Kampala Serena Hotel to host the second edition of “The Women’s Getaway”

The women's getaway - High Tea

I have always believed that “when women support each other, incredible things happen”—and indeed incredible things have happened. Themed “Know Your Worth” The Women’s Getaway High Tea is back and Kampala Serena Hotel will host the second edition of the annual women’s gathering.

Slated for 5th November 2022, the women’s empowerment event is organised by Gala Image Consulting, one of Uganda’s leading image & etiquette consulting companies in partnership with SCEED International and PJM Concepts.

Launched on Women’s Day 8 March 2019 by the Queen of Buganda—her Royal Highness Sylvia Nagginda, The Women’s Getaway “inspires, awakens lost dreams and creates profound connections”.

“Our gatherings are built on a foundation of love, unity and empowerment of women through sharing their unique journeys plus gifts. They bring together women from Uganda and across Africa to ‘Celebrate Womanhood’,” says Faith E. Nabaggala, the founder of Gala Image Consulting.

At the inaugural event attended by over 250 women, Caroline Mutoko, a powerful inspirational speaker and Chief Marketing Officer of Radio Africa Group Nairobi, Kenya was the keynote speaker under the theme, “Recharge: Mind, Body & Soul”.

The womens getaway keynote speaker

At this year’s event, themed “Know Your Worth”, Kenya’s renowned fashion blogger Catherine Kariuki a.k.a Fashionable Step mum will be the keynote speaker.

Catherine is a mother of six, a digital marketer, and a certified Image Consultant from the school of South Africa Image Academy. She is also the founder of Image Redefined Ltd and has inspired and mentored women from various walks of life.

The other speaker will be Lawrence Eli Okoronkwo, commonly known as Renzioni Hill of Renzioni Weddings & Events Company.

The High Tea gathering offers women a platform to share their stories, promote women-led businesses, personal growth, self-love, healthy living, and boost confidence in women while providing networking opportunities.

So ladies, mothers, sisters and wives, come “understand and appreciate the value” you have to transform society while networking with other fellow women of class.

It goes without saying that some of the proceeds from the event are dedicated to charity towards mentoring and empowering the girl child. Post the event in 2019, part of the proceeds of “The Women’s Getaway” went to the Nnaabagereka Development Foundation and Concern for the Girl Child (CGC).
