Lydia gave Makindye West member of parliament Hon. Allan Ssewanyana an early Christmas gift as she officially introduced him to her family and relatives.
The traditional wedding ceremony, held just two days before Christmas (on 22.12.2023), was a blend of cultural elegance, tradition and norms as well modern flair exhibited in the couple’s outfit and venue setup.
Before the customary union hosted at Lydia’s parents’ home in Nansana, Wakiso District that had been decorated to near perfection, the couple had been cohabiting for some significant time.
Trimmed to his renown French haircut, the former Top Radio and NBS TV presenter, Hon. Allan was clad in a white Kanzu and a grey coat, matching in company of fellow legislator Hon. Gonzaga Ssewungu from Kalungu District as his best man.
The event was attended by close family and friends, as well as some notable figures from the political arena and the celebrity spectrum. Some of these included former Buganda Katikiro Mulwanyamuli Ssemwogerere, former Buganda Atoney General David F.K. Mpanga, Kampala Lord Maya—Salongo Erias Lukwago, Pastor Willson Bugembe among many others.
Musicians Maureen Nantume, Catherine Kusasira and David Lutalo also graced the ceremony with thrilling performances.
