Joan Nanteza introduces Titus Opolot via mikolo

When Joan Nanteza and Titus Opolot, a Data Analyst—met in high school in 2009, it didn’t occur to either of them that ten years down the road, they would be traditionally getting hitched.

Although Joan doesn’t reveal explicitly when, she does recount that they dated for at least four years before Titus took the knee to ask for her hand in marriage.

Thinking far back in time, it’s really hard to recall what that day was like particularly for me but on Friday 16th April 2021, Titus proposed and she said yes. The following day, on Saturday 17th April, Joan welcomed the apple of her eye home for their wonderful kukyala (pre-visit).

“Patient, humble and quiet,” is how Joan describes her husband with whom they traditionally got hitched in Sseguku with Stabua Natooro as the guest performing artist of the day.

The bride went on to say that the planning process was; “a bit challenging but we had planned our function prior to the Covid situation. We didn’t get serious support financially.”

Joan further advises couples to “prepare their finances prior not to ride on families and friends”.
