Like former US President Usain Barrack Obama and his wife Michelle Robinson Obama, Anne Nasubo, a public health officer met her significant other Emmanuel Okello at work.
“We met at work. We were working on the same project with an NGO,” Anne told www.mikolo.com
While working on that project, it’s now evident that Emmanuel, a Statistician by profession didn’t have his sights focused on just analyzing and interpreting the data to draw to any logical conclusions for their project, he was also keeping a keen eye on Anne. The two soon became friends and eventually, one thing led to another.
And after two years of courtship, Emmanuel had seen enough, convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that she was the one and so he popped the question.
Anne then hosted him at her parents’ home for their kukyala (pre-visit) on Saturday 31st August 2019.
Three months later, Emmanuel returned to Anne’s home with a bigger entourage to meet his new in-laws at a successful introduction ceremony on 7th December 2019 in Sonde, Namugongo.
What do you like most about your spouse?
He is God-fearing, very patient, consistent and committed.
How was the planning process for you as a couple?
It was very smooth, we started planning for it from January 2019, so we had enough time to organise and have everything ready by December. We were not so stressed because we had ample time to check out different service providers.
What advice would you wish to share with couples planning to get married?
Do not focus so much on planning the function that you forget about each other. Continue to go out on dates and spend quality time together.
