Finally, the day that the Lord had made fell upon us, Friday November 22nd, 2024—the day of Capital FM’s ‘The Big Wedding Season 8’ as Tony and Tesi tied the knot at an unforgettable wedding.
The day kicked off with an early morning downpour in some parts of the capital Kampala, but like the common social media banter adage goes, “nothing can stop reggae”, so not even the heavens weeping was going to stop us from celebrating the winning couple of Tony Katelegga and Tesi Mackline.
In the week leading to the big day, the couple had to overcome a last-minute hiccup that saw them opt for a civil wedding as opposed to the intended church wedding.
So off to the registrar they went, exchanged their vows and they were declared husband and wife.
Meanwhile, at Speke Resort Munyonyo where they reception was hosted, final touches were being done on their mega Fotogenix tent by the deft hands of Renzioni who were in charge of the show stopping decor that defined the venue.
And in the background of it all, the Buzz Events deejay treated us to all sorts of jams as a forward team from Abeeka Band also set up their own equipment that later deliver the best band performance I have witnessed at a wedding in the last decade.
Out of the tent, in the midst of the lash-green that overlooks the serene waters of Lake Victoria, Speke Resort set the serving tables for the food, Baileys set their cocktail bar spot, Bell Lager with one of their own just as much Pepsi.
As the clocks struck 3PM, the elegant bride and groom, in the company of their entourage made way to the venue, riding in Adonia Group delivered bridal cars.
Tesi was simply a goddess in her Love & Lace wedding gown, her bridesmaids looking demure and the flower girl all looking cutesy, all with perfectly done makeup by Fayth Presh and HairbyZziwa, set foot on the paved walk ways of the grand resort.
Tony, dressed to the T, along with the groomsmen and page boy, all clad in The Looks Bespoke customed tuxedos sauntered along.
The bride looked in the groom’s direction and they smiled at each other, all in appreciation of what Renzioni had pulled off, a magnificent all white setup with shades of gold and green.
Xcy Events, the photographers of the day got to work and did their magic. It was inspiring, watching Christopher Galukande, the CEO of Xcy Events, in action, directing every detail with his team and leading the drone shots.
Gaetano Jjuuko Kaggwa and Lucky Mbabazi, the Capital FM morning show hosts were the emcees and everything was perfect.
The newly weds where treated to a surprise performance by Pallaso as well as Rebecca Jingo, who also doubles as a radio presenter at Capital FM’s sister Luganda station Beat FM. Staff from both stations were present.
To Tony and Tesi, congratulations to you both. We wish you a happy married life.
