Highlights from Mami Deb and Michael’s Lavish Destination Wedding in the Maldives

Destination weddings don’t come to us quite as often as we would love them too but every time they do, they do it in style. There’s something uniquely beautiful about of a destination wedding, often defined by a choice of scenery.

In a typical Cinderella style, Ugandan actress and Boujee CEO Mami Deb, real name, Deborah Nantongo, over the weekend tied the knot with her longtime partner, Michael Cleave, at a lavish destination wedding in the breathtaking Maldives.

The wedding took place in the picturesque South Asian islands, where the couple had previously celebrated their engagement, marking another significant chapter in their love story.

For Mami Deb and Michael, this union signifies more than just a wedding but rather a testimony of a second chance at love after the groom previously put an end to his 24-year marriage before finding happiness with his new belle bride in spite of their 20-year difference.

And on the other hand, Mami Deb’s first romantic adventure suffered a premature birth when she ended her first marriage to a Ugandan man after just one year back in 2017.

While still nursing her broken heart, she had decided to return to the British capital, London, where she met another Ugandan man with whom they share a son, Malakai.

Just days to their wedding, while appearing on a YouTube podcast with “The Romantic Mukiga”, the groom-to-be underscored his love for the bride-to-be, noting how she makes his “heart light, make my day special. You are everything to me and always will be.”

Their wedding photos, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Maldives, beautifully capture the essence of their love and joy, making this celebration an unforgettable moment in both their lives.

To the newlyweds, congratulations to you both from us all here at Mikolo. We wish you a blessed marriage.
