A sit down between Juliana Kanyomozi and NBS TV’s Douglas Lwanga felt less like an interview but more like a conversation between two old friends who were catching up during an evening over a cup of coffee—never mind that there wasn’t any.

And while they spoke at length about so many things about Douglas’ personal and professional life, what caught our attention the most was when he revealed how he meet his wife Lindan Sara Lisa, with whom they’ve been together for the last 14 years.

So, when Juliana posed the question to him about how he and Lindan met, here is what he had to say.

“So, Record TV…remember when we were at Kamwokya side! I picked a story in Red Peper and I think she’d split with her boyfriend by then. And so I go on air and I narrate the story…you know back in the day gossip was got Red Peper so you come on air, add in a few things and speak like an informed person,” Douglas recounted.

“So, I go on air and of course say all these things about her…hoo, she was mad…she comes with her friend called Nisha, Bridget. So, they come together to start a fight, so they came and then of course I sat down and tell them this is the story, I got it here and here but you know I’m sorry if it offended you in any way you know and she was calm, she was easy and she’s like it’s okay.”

“Then we started to talk, we became friends. I’m a very secretive person when I’m going through things and so I found her like a very safe person, a good listener—so she listened to what I was going through you know,” he added.

“Us who are public figures sometimes it’s very difficult to share and talk about your life especially when you’re at the bottom but you have to keep smiling and you need just one friend that can sit down and just listen to you.”

“So that’s how we meet you know, she listened to what I was going through give me advice here and there and then before you know it, we had actually connected.”

And that’s exactly why we love LOVE. Anyway, feel free to catchup on the full interview on Juliana Kanyomozi’s YouTube channel.
