Politically things may have not gone so well for the National Unity Platform (NUP) leaders this year, but at a personal level, we are sure they couldn’t have had it any other way.
In the department of love, where we as Mikolo are more interested, they’ve been intent on making things official and celebrating family life this year.
In September, Hon. Francis Zaake Butebi of Mityana Municipality wedded his wife Bridget Nnamirembe, then party Spokesperson and Nakawa West MP Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi and his wife Febress Naggawa celebrated their daughter Gianna’s first birthday (firstborn) in October while Kasanda Woman MP Flavia Kalule Nabagabe got engaged.
And now, almost a week after being introduced to his parents-and-family in-law, outspoken NUP Deputy Spokesperson Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro wedded his wife Edith at a beautiful wedding ceremony.
The couple said their “I do” at St. Paul’s Cathedral, Namirembe before retreating to the serene sights of One Love Beach Busalaba where they hosted their wedding reception.
It was such a wonderful function that was graced by multiple political leaders from the Opposition who included, but not limited to, Lord Mayor Salongo Erias Lukwago, Retired Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye, Hon. Medard Lubega Ssegona and NUP Secretary General Lewis Lubongoya among others.
As expected, the elegant couple of NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi a.k.a Bobi Wine and his wife Barbie headlined the wedding guests with some stellar fashion.
Waiswa black and maroon two-piece tuxedo chose his identical twin brother Tenywa as his best man.
Once again, Bobi Wine and Nubian Li were kind enough to treat the couple and their guests to some thrilling entertainment as well as Eddy Yawe, a brother to Bobi Wine. It goes without saying that Chairman Nyanzi also attended the function.
