A bride-to-be recently asked me why we love traditional weddings more than anything else when it comes to Ugandan weddings and events.
The answer was quite simple; they are what separates us from the rest of the world when it comes to the celebration of love, bringing two families together, often from different traditions and norms—and sometimes religion as one.
Although a lot has changed and continues to in this celebration that has become a show of pomp and glamour, customary weddings are always a display of culture more than anything. Right from the outfits of the day, the language, the welcomeness, and the often entertaining verbal exchanges between the two emcees.
So today we take you to Kibale, Kooki where B2C entertained at Julianah and Robert’s cultural display of love.
Julianah welcomed Robert to her parents’ home where she officially introduced him to her family, relatives and friends on Saturday 5th November 2022.
The bride was out to inspire in an elegant display of traditional wear. With the contemporary accessories complementing her bridal look, Julie wore the trendy green in one of her gomesis.
Green has been the colour that defined this year’s most customary functions of this nature.
But what we loved, even more, was her exquisite makeup by Xtra Glam. Congratulations Julie and Robert from us all at Mikolo. We wish you a blessed marriage.
