Best friends for life, and now husband and wife forever. Two best friends, Lilian and James traditionally hitched.
“We have known each other for 7 years. We are best friends,” Lillian told Mikolo before adding that she and James “dated for three years” before he asked for her hand in marriage.
“We have been friends for a long time and that made it easy for each one of us.”
Sometime last year, fresh from Independence Day, James proposed to his heartthrob on Saturday 10th October 2020. A yes from Lillian set the wheels in motion for their pre-visit as she welcomed James home for the first time on 7th January 2021 for their kukyala.
With the blessing of their parents, the two lovebirds went on to get traditionally hitched on Saturday 14th August 2021 as Lillian introduced her significant other to her parents, relatives and loved ones in Muyenga, Kampala.
Almost a week later, on Friday 20th August 2021—James walked her down the aisle as two exchanged vows at a wedding.
The bride advises new couples “to go scientific. Many have pushed their functions because of the pandemic but no one knows when it will end.”
“So with a scientific function, planning becomes easier and at the end of it these functions are about the two of you, not the guests coming to the wedding or introduction.”
