Sometimes I sit and wonder to myself where I would be without all the friends I have. Sometimes I wonder whether all those weddings and marriages would have happened if it weren’t for friends.
In this line of work, I have come to learn that majority of couples either met through friends or somewhere at work. And the story isn’t any different for Flavia Birungi and her better half Promise Twinomugisha.
“Well, we met at work. He had come to see a friend at my workplace then saw me. I was waiting to go to the washroom but someone inside was taking so long,” Flavia reminisces.
“When he passed, he said ‘Hi’. So I pretended I wasn’t badly off. Later his friend called me to his office to meet him and he asked me a question…… ‘Besides being beautiful, what do you do?’
And just like that, they connected. Their hearts may not have come up with an immediate response to what they felt then but deep inside, each of them knew there was something unique about one another in a very instantaneous way. It’s safe to say they are a match made in heaven.
“We became friends on his birthday and our love story began, that’s why the kukyala was on his birthday still (13th April) because that’s the gift he wanted,” Flavia noted.
It has been five years of courting, getting to know each beyond the places they like to hang out or their favourite colours when Promise popped the question.
“We had been together for 5years when he surprised me with a cinema proposal on 11th April,” she revealed.
And on Twinomugisha’s birthday, on Saturday 13th April (2019), Flavia hosted her fianc
