Brian and I met through a friend. For us it wasn?t okay because he is Anglican and am Muslim. I was like; no it can?t be but his friend insisted that I give him a chance. Soon we went for our first date and Brian was like, I think I will be seeing you next weekend. Oh God!!! There is another date!!! I could not believe it because I thought it was going to stop there.
After four years of courting, Asher decided to officially introduce Brian to her parents and their kwanjula (giveaway) was on July 31st. Two weeks later, Brian walked Asher down the aisle at Namirembe Cathedral. After church, the couple had a photo shoot at Speke Resort Hotel in Munyonyo and hosted their guests at the Executive gardens in Gaba. The bride was dressed by Sisters bridals; her makeup was done by Step ahead saloon while their deco was done by Event Styles. Their photography and video coverage was done by Agapix Photography.
Normally, couples take very little or no rest between their Giveaway and wedding while for a few that do, they often take a month and beyond. However, Asher reveals that whereas Brian had planned for them to take a one week break between the two events, her dad advised them to take fortnight break after the Kwanjula to have enough time to rest prior to the wedding.
HONEYMOON
Hesitantly and in a whisper, Asher revealed that they went to Mombasa for their honeymoon, a period she excitedly speaks of. OMG, you should have seen her during our brief interview, she was all smiles. ?Wawoo, it was beautiful. It was very nice and we had a good time,? she said as I jerk my head in surprise of her enormous excitement. ?I didn?t want to come back and we even want to go back.?
When asked about her opinion on upcountry honeymoons, Asher says that they are very okay. ?You get to see how Uganda is naturally endowed. You know there are so many nice places in this country that we don?t know about, she noted before adding that it?s very important for a couple to go away for a honeymoon.?
